BFM Membership & Fees

Bloom Functional Medicine employs a hybrid billing model.

We bill in-network insurance and also have out of pocket costs for non-billable services.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Worden will be offering a limited number of new patient memberships starting to open her practice up again to new patients. These memberships will provide access to frequent and longer visits with Dr. Worden, urgent appointments, more access to her in between appointments for questions and concerns as well as access to online educational content. These BFM Memberships will be limited, so we encourage you to sign up soon before they are filled. Once the limited membership spots are filled, we will place interested patients on a waiting list.

Your monthly membership fees covers some of the costs of non-billable services while speciality services and out of network care is paid at a cash rate.

Our goal, as always, is to provide the best care possible for our patients while allowing Dr. Worden to also take good care of herself, attend the many cutting-edge conferences and have time to develop more resources to support our patients.

Fees:

Monthly Membership Dues are based on the membership tier you choose and each membership term is for a 3 month period of time.  After the 3 months, you may wish to change your membership tier or cancel membership if you are choosing to no longer receive care at Bloom Functional Medicine.

Non-Covered Fees:

In addition to fees for care received at Bloom Functional Medicine, there are some services that are not covered by most commercial and medicare insurance plans.  The majority of insurance plans are not structured to provide preventative medicine, integrative or functional medicine, or allow the time needed for in depth investigation and counseling needed for working towards lifestyle changes and "mystery" illnesses.  Unfortunately, while many patients spend a lot of money on insurance hoping it will provide the care needed, most insurance models focus on sick care, not well care.  They are geared towards a conventional approach to patient care and leads to short visits (7-15 minutes) and no coverage until something is "broken."  This is a lot like car insurance that covers accidents and repair work but not preventative care like oil changes, tire rotation, brake replacement and tune ups.

Functional Labs:  Many of the labs ordered in functional medicine are not paid for by insurance plans.  We do work hard to contain costs but for most patients, there will be labs that are not paid for by most insurance companies.

Supplements:  Most insurance plans to not provide for any reimbursement for supplements and the ones that do usually carry low cost, low quality supplements.

Nutritional Counseling:  As Hippocrates said, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."  Most of us know that a healthy diet can improve health and an unhealthy diet can only exacerbate poor health.  Our focus at Bloom Functional Medicine is to identify what are the individual nutritional goals for a patient.  One diet is not the best for all.  Implementing nutritional changes can be challenging and our nutritionist can help support those patients on a one-by-one basis.  Some insurances cover nutritional counseling but not all.
